As a result, minor, lowland flooding continues along the immediate reach of the Little Blue River from east-central Nuckolls County downstream across all of Thayer County. Based on trends over the last 12 hours, the river is expected to continue a very slow, gradual fall through the rest of today, and the gauges near Deshler and Hebron could slip slightly below flood stage by sometime Friday evening. However, there is some uncertainty regarding how quickly water levels will drop, and it is possible that areas along the river especially east of Hebron to the Jefferson County line could continue to experience minor flooding through at least early Saturday. - This includes the following streams and drainages... “Flood Warning issued October 1 at 11:34PM CDT until October 2 at 7:30PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE”
* WHAT...Minor Flooding along portions of the Little Blue River in Thayer and Nuckolls counties * WHERE...East Central Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1104 PM CDT, automated river gauges continue to indicate that minor flooding is occurring along the Little Blue River as a result of heavy rainfall over the last few days. At 10:15 PM CDT, a gauge along the Little Blue River at Hebron reported a stage of 14.0 feet, which was 0.5 feet above the minor flood stage of 13.5 feet. As a result, minor flooding continues both upstream and downstream of Hebron along the Little Blue River through Thayer County. Since the river crested at 14.9 feet around 8AM Thursday morning, water levels have continued to gradually fall. Though water levels appear to be falling at the gauge site at Hebron, water levels upstream at the gauge site near Deshler, however, still continue to just barely rise. As of 10:45PM CDT, the upstream gauge near Deshler rests at 16.4 feet, just barely into the minor flood stage starting at 16 feet. It is uncertain how much water is still left to collect upstream, though recent water level increases have appeared to of substantially slowed. This leads us to believe that water levels may be soon to crest tonight. Minor flooding along the stretch of the Little Blue river across Thayer and Nuckolls county will be expected to continue on through the night and into a portion of the day Friday. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Creek, South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Little Blue River, Little Sandy Creek, Oak Creek, Walnut Creek, Elk Creek, Turtle Creek, Spring Creek, Dry Sandy Creek and Big Sandy Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Hebron, Davenport, Bruning, Alexandria, Carleton, Oak and Belvidere. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...East Central Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 311 PM CDT, automated river gauges and ground-truth reports from observers indicated that minor flooding continued along the Little Blue River and Big Sandy Creek, as a result of heavy rainfall over the last few days. At 215 PM CDT, a gauge along the Little Blue River at Hebron reported a stage of 14.6 feet, which was 1.1 feet above minor flood stage of 13.5 feet. As a result, minor flooding continues both upstream and downstream of Hebron along the Little Blue through Thayer County. In addition, at 245 PM CDT, a gauge along the Big Sandy Creek near Alexandria reported a stage of 14.6 feet, just above moderate flood stage of 14.5 feet. As a result, at least minor flooding continues along the Big Sandy through northeastern Thayer County, including near Highway 53 just south of Alexandria. Going forward, water levels along the Little Blue River and Big Sandy Creek are expected to very slow fall over the next 24 hours, but could remain above minor flood stage until at least sometime Friday. However, exact timing of when they will fall below flood stage is a bit uncertain as upstream water will continue feeding into the area from the west. - This includes the following streams and drainages... * WHAT...Flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...East Central Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1034 AM CDT, various rainfall observations, automated river gauges, and ground-truth reports from emergency management personnel indicated that at least 3-5 inches of rain had fallen within the Warning area over the last 48 hours, resulting in continued flooding along area creeks and rivers. A river gauge along the Little Blue River at Hebron reported a stage of 14.9 feet at 1015 AM CDT, which was 1.4 feet above minor flood stage of 13.5 feet. As a result, minor flooding is ongoing both upstream and downstream of Hebron along the Little Blue. Also, a gauge along the Big Sandy Creek near Alexandria reported a stage of 15.0 feet at 945 AM CDT, which was 0.5 feet above moderate flood stage of 14.5 feet, and is actually the highest water level there since 2015. This flooding has resulted in the closure of state Highway 53 just south of Alexandria. Going forward, it is likely that water levels will start to crest and eventually slowly fall along the Little Blue River and Big Sandy Creek sometime on Friday, but exact timing is still a bit uncertain as upstream water continues to work into the area from the west. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Creek, South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Little Blue River, Little Sandy Creek, Oak Creek, Walnut Creek, Elk Creek, Turtle Creek, Spring Creek, Balls Branch Rose Creek, Dry Sandy Creek and Big Sandy Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include...
