Official Warnings Recorded, Quoted In Full
“Flood Warning issued October 2 at 12:24PM CDT until October 3 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE”
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Along the West Fork Big Blue River in Southeastern York County in east central Nebraska and Northwestern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1212 PM CDT, the gauge along the West Fork Big Blue River north of Grafton was at 13.0 feet, which was 2.0 feet above minor flood stage of 11.0 feet. As a result, fairly widespread flooding of pastures and fields immediately adjacent to the river continues, including downstream through the McCool Junction area to the Seward County line. Based on trends over the last several hours at the Grafton gauge, water levels appear to have crested and have started a very slow, gradual drop that should continue over the next few days. However, it now appears that the river will likely remain above flood stage until at least sometime Saturday, prompting this Warning to be extended out farther in time. - This includes the following streams and drainages... West Fork Big Blue River. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... McCool Junction, and rural areas along the West Fork Big Blue River both upstream and downstream of McCool Junction. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
“Flood Warning issued October 1 at 11:46PM CDT until October 2 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE”
* WHAT...Minor flooding along the West Fork Big Blue River in portions of York and Fillmore counties continue. * WHERE...Southeastern York County in east central Nebraska... Northwestern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1136 PM CDT, automated river gauges continue to indicate ongoing minor flooding along the West Fork Big Blue River, as a result of heavy rainfall over the last few days. As of 11:00PM CDT, an automated gauge north of Grafton reported a stage of 13.3, which was 2.3 feet above the minor flood stage of 11.0 feet. Given the recent trends indicating a substantial slowdown of increasing water levels, we suspect that the water levels may be soon to crest tonight. It is likely that water levels along the West Fork Big Blue River will remain in minor flood stage until at least sometime Friday or Friday night before dropping back below flood stage. - This includes the following streams and drainages... West Fork Big Blue River, Turkey Creek, Little Sandy Creek, Beaver Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Pawnee Creek, School Creek, Sleepy Hollow Creek, Scott Creek, Buffalo Creek, Johnson Creek, Walnut Creek, South Fork Turkey Creek, Galaway Creek, Stone Creek, Dry Sandy Creek, Dove Creek, Little Blue River, Thirtytwo Mile Creek, Dry Run Creek, Liberty Creek and Oak Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... McCool Junction, and rural areas along the West Fork Big Blue River both upstream and downstream of McCool Junction. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Southeastern York County in east central Nebraska... Northwestern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 254 PM CDT, automated river gauges and ground-truth reports from observers indicated that minor flooding continued along the West Fork Big Blue River, as a result of heavy rainfall over the last few days. Elk Run Creek, Stone Creek, Antelope Creek, West Fork Big Blue River, School Creek and Galaway Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... McCool Junction, and rural areas along the West Fork Big Blue River both upstream and downstream of McCool Junction. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
