Beach Hazards Statement
“Beach Hazards Statement issued October 29 at 4:20AM EDT until October 29 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC”
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...East Carteret County. * WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, through Thursday evening. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 2 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tide levels will remain high with a King Tide Cycle in place through today. The morning high tide will be the highest of the two daily tides.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Life-threatening rip currents. If caught in a rip current, remain calm. Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If tired, float or tread water until out of the rip current. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

  • Gasoline prices (EIA): No weekly move of 10 cents or more · U.S. Energy Information Administration · read Oct 26, 9:27 AM EDT

Background

  • Gasoline prices (EIA)
Regular gasoline, Lower Atlantic (PADD 1C), week of 2026-10-19: $3.860 a gallon, down 7 cents from the week before. U.S. Energy Information Administration

Each line is the source's own fields, linked to the source. Unusual is this county against its own history, never against other counties. FRA posts about three months after an accident, so its lines are reported, not breaking. Each line is the source's own fields, linked to the source. Unusual is this county against its own history, never against other counties. Bird flu detections are reported in our words with a link to USDA APHIS; its records are not reproduced. iNaturalist observations are shown only under CC0 or CC-BY, with the observer credited; others are counted. Observations with an obscured location are never placed on a county.
