Other Official Alerts, Quoted In Full

Watches, advisories and statements. Not warnings, and not counted as warnings.

Coastal Flood Advisory
“Coastal Flood Advisory issued October 29 at 4:23AM PDT until October 31 at 6:00PM PDT by NWS San Francisco CA”
* WHAT...Up to 1.9 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Bay Shoreline locations of San Pablo Bay, San Francisco Bay, and Monterey Bay. * WHEN...Until 6 PM PDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...High tides will result in flooding of low-lying infrastructure, isolated road closures, and coastal erosion. Rising tides will bring water and waves farther up the beach than normal, restricting escape from beaches and coastal areas. More substantial impacts are expected along bayshore Marin County where increased flooding is anticipated across low lying areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 1.9 ft above normal (7.7 ft MLLW) at 01:43 PM Thursday 10/29, 1.6 ft above normal (7.4 ft MLLW) at 02:39 PM Friday 10/30, and 1.1 feet above normal (6.9 ft MLLW) at 03:44 PM on Saturday 10/31. These predictions include up to 1.2 ft of surge that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

River levels are shown against their usual, but not yet judged. A gauge’s usual here is its range of October monthly averages; the reading is the latest 15-minute value, which a passing rain or dry spell can carry outside that range. So no river gauge makes this county Unusual For Here until we compare each day with the same day’s history.

A gauge’s usual is its range of October monthly averages over its record (USGS).
